Second Sunday is an exceptional podcast..
This series is not only entertaining, but it also explores identity in queer lives coming from a Christian background. I found this to be so enlightening in multiple many ways. Sometimes we’re searching for conversations we’re not sure are been had. Until one day you stumble upon the right conversation for you (me).
Thought provoking
If you’re ready to take God out of the box, this is a show for you. Second Sunday it’s like a good meal where you keep coming back to it for leftovers. It keeps feeding you and feeding you-something church used to do for me. Thanks to ALL who share their experience strength and hope with those who look to see a church show up and love!
Love this show!
This podcast is BOMB. Highly recommend listening.
Review in the Dark
I just finally finished my laughing jag but I’m still not safe to speak at the moment. It’s pretty disturbing and quite disgusting to not just let my emotions fly because that’s exactly how you people expect us clean and good people to engage you. I’m sure that you all have very proud parents and siblings and they always tell you exactly how they truly feel. How proud they are of you all. Certainly they would not exaggerate the truth right. I’m sure they’re really proud of their woke children especially when they are speaking with their own friends. Time to wake up now. Black white gay or straight. Cut these poor people a break. And please wash your hands before leaving the rest rooms! Or any room. 🤮🤮

Leviticus 18:22. Leviticus 20:13. Jude 1:7. Romans 1:26-28. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. 1 Timothy 1:8-11. Not sure how one can say they follow the Scriptures and Jesus but also say that homosexuality is not a sin. Our Faith and knowledge of the truth is fundamentally built on Scripture. With that being said all people deserve respect. No homosexual should EVER be looked down upon or hated. Homosexuality is just a sin you need to give to God. My flesh as a straight male wants sex with a lot of women. All the time. All different women. But the Lord my God in the scriptures says absolutely not to this. That would be a sin. So guess what? I gave up a bunch of sex all the time because Jesus is so worthy of my everything. I am now 2 years celibate and looking for my wife. So see, we all have sexual sin we must give to the Lord and pray about. I recommend reading or listening to Sam Allberry if u have further questions on this.
Fantastic Inspiring
Such a great podcast - so inspiring, great guests, great discussions! One of my favs!
These conversations and voices are SO NEEDED to counter hate from un-Christlike “Christians”
As a baby queer (at 54 lol), I am so glad shows like this exist in this day and age. Think of ALL the suffering people have endured for ages at the hands of “Christianity” and were ostracized and left the church because of the awful treatment…the opposite of what Christ would want. We NEED voices like the hosts and guests on Second Sunday to help people know they are not alone, they are NOT less in Christ’s eyes, and there is hope. Times are changing..slowly…but changing and this show is absolutely a part of it.
Heartfelt Podcast: A Must-Listen!!
What I love most about Second Sunday is its heart. The stories shared are powerful and relatable, offering a fresh perspective on spirituality and identity. It’s not just about religion; it’s about finding yourself, understanding your roots, and navigating life’s tough moments. The production is top-notch, with crystal clear audio that makes you feel like you’re right there with them. I love Second Sunday!!!!
Beautiful stories and reflections
I love the stories shared in this podcast. They are real and share a side of religion that I wish I experienced when I was younger. Thank you for bringing this to life.
Truly exceptional
There’s a long standing history of miss treatment of the LGBTQ community from inside the church and I love that Second Sunday shows how anti Christian that behavior is. What ever your religious beliefs are you should be able to be yourself and feel safe inside your places of worship. The team at Second Sunday is doing amazing work.
Fantastic podcast!
This is a wonderful podcast! I’ve learned so much from the stories shared on this show, and I highly recommend it.
Opening the door for more to turn to Christianity
LGBTQ+ people have validly turned away from Christianity and this podcasts reopens the door for them to reenter the space of worship while loving themselves.
I really enjoy Second Sunday Podcast
I love hearing the stories, it’s restoring my faith!
Repent ‼️
The only person taking you through this delusional, painful path is the devil. If you give your life to Christ you will become a new creation & He will put you life. He will fulfill that whole you’re trying to fill with worldly desires. Just put your trust in Him. The creator of the world who died for you knows what’s better for you & it’s not living the sinful lifestyle that you want to live. Jesus is coming back really soon & I'm horrified that lies like this show will be leading people to the path of death. Encouraging their delusions.
Not Christian
This podcast is full of lies promoting self over God.
Not just for Sundays
OH MY GOD! This podcast is so inspiring and captivating from the first until the last moment of each episode. Amazing guests, thought-provoking hosts and soulful sound design. I can’t wait for more. A little bit of church every day. And I’m not even a Christian!
As a fellow Christian
This podcast is very good and it shows Christianity as the good force it is
The show I didn’t know I needed
This is such a wonderfully affirming and thought provoking show, even for a non-Christian like myself.
Need more content like this
I’m an Asian Christian and straight but somehow this show is just so relatable. The world needs more of shows like this!
Need more Second Sunday ASAP!
Second Sunday is an absolute gem of a podcast. Diving into the world of black churches and their impact on marginalized communities, the hosts weave stories that hit the heart. It's not just something to listen to; it's something you'll feel. Trust me, by the end of it, you'll be hooked and wanting more. It's real, raw, and totally worth your time!
Wonderful exploration of a neglected area
Queer people shouldn’t/don’t go to church. Church isn’t a safe place for queer people. These are truisms that blind us to the real lives and meaningful experiences of a lot of queer folx, and I’m so grateful the Qube is pulling the curtain back on it!
Incredible
Fantastic show - just what the world needs. Keep it up!
Wonderful insight--voices that provide perspective!
How do people balance religion, sexuality and race? This first episode was an compelling first person account of navigating all these intersections. Can't wait to hear more! First person storytelling at its finest!
Thank you!
Thank you all so much for creating this podcast! Thank you Darren for sharing your story in this first episode and creating space for others to share their unique and infinitely valuable stories and selves. 💜💜💜
Excited to hear these meaningful perspectives
I am so excited to hear Darren and Esther dive into these difficult and nuanced questions. Love their genuine approach to this topic, their hearts to learn and understand. I’m eager to learn more about how faith intersects with identity this season and beyond!
Second Sunday Got me!
This is so good/timely/immediately engaging. Church-related trauma runs so deep. I hear the trusted voice of experience from Rev. Vernice Thorn in the trailer. And who wouldn't want to listen to healing voices?!
Powerful
Such a powerful show, having conversations we’re all afraid to have. But i admire appreciate and enjoy the honesty
Let's goooooo!
Excited for this podcast and for these conversations that have been needing to be had. We have been the pink elephant in the church for too long and we need discussion around it and to know that we are not alone with these feelings that have yet to be reconciled. Thank you!
